About
Engineering that's calm under load.
I'm Hamza Ahmad Saddal, a Software & AI Engineer who likes the hard, unglamorous parts of building products: the data model, the query plan, the job queue that has to retry at 3am, and the prompt pipeline that has to return valid JSON every single time.
Today I'm a Senior Software Engineer at Partyfer, where I designed a RAG-based search that lets people find event packages in plain language. Before that I led architecture work on healthcare SaaS, migrated monoliths to microservices, and built APIs for real-time fantasy sports.
I work best close to product, turning fuzzy ideas into systems that are fast, observable and easy for the next engineer to change.
- 01
AI that ships
LLMs wired into real products with structured outputs, retries and evaluation. Not demos.
- 02
Performance by default
Indexes, caching and background jobs designed in from day one.
- 03
Built to be changed
Service objects, clear boundaries, tests and monitoring you can trust.

Natural-language package search
A Retrieval-Augmented Generation system on OpenAI that turns questions like "a birthday venue in London for 80 people with catering" into structured SQL filters, returning both machine-readable results and a human answer. Async Sidekiq AI workers handle tagging and recommendations behind the scenes.

Experience
Where I've been building.
Nov 2024 to Present
Senior Software Engineer at Partyfer
- Architected RAG-based package search with OpenAI, converting natural-language queries into structured SQL filters.
- Built asynchronous AI workers in Sidekiq for classification, tagging and recommendations, with retries, logging and failure handling.
- Shipped a recommendation engine blending user intent with rule-based filtering; cut response times with indexing and Redis caching.
Mar 2023 to Oct 2024
Senior Software Engineer at Cribble Tech
- Led the architectural redesign of Belle Cares' scheduling app and introduced multi-tenancy for multiple healthcare providers.
- Built OpenClinica features and integrations for clinical trial data, with Python data-validation scripts.
- Reduced API response times ~40% through query optimisation; added RBAC, Celery background jobs and New Relic / Datadog observability.
- At Posiwise: migrated a monolith to Kafka-driven microservices with GraphQL, rate limiting and Docker/Kubernetes CI/CD.
Dec 2021 to Feb 2023
Ruby on Rails Developer at Xprolabs
- Interstride: Redis caching layer cut redundant database queries ~60%; refactored to service objects and upgraded Rails.
- PrizePicks: built Rails APIs for a React Native app: projections, filtering, real-time scoring and cashouts.
Aug 2019 to Nov 2021
Frontend Developer at InvoZone
- Built responsive React apps and reusable UI component libraries, integrating REST APIs with backend teams.
- Improved page speed through lazy loading, asset optimisation and efficient rendering.
